Danny Jansen will change into the fundamental major leaguer to show up in a game for the two social events when he plays catcher for the Boston Red Sox on Monday in the resumption of a suspended game against the Toronto Blue Jays.
“He’s getting. We should leave a mark on the world,” Boston boss Alex Cora conveyed Friday before the Red Sox dropped the opener of a three-game series against Arizona 12-2.
Jansen wanted to bat for Toronto when the 26 June game against Boston was suspended in the second inning on account of a deluge. It was rescheduled for Monday as a piece of a doubleheader.
“I couldn’t say whether it’s set in for me. It’s decidedly something cool. Decidedly thankful,” Jansen said. “Truly, when I found out about it, I didn’t figure I would be the first. The game has been around for such a long time. One of those qualities occurs in this game. It’s incredibly entrancing and cool.”
The Red Sox procured the 29-year-old Jansen in an exchange on 27 July.
Reese McGuire was Boston’s catcher for the 26 June game. McGuire was dispatched all over to Basically extend A Worcester after the Red Sox exchanged for Jansen.
Jansen was throughout activity Friday and went hitless in four at-bats in Boston’s 12-2 difficulty to Arizona. Since joining the Red Sox, he’s batting .257 with two homers in 13 games.
